Tshinghua University is one of the Asia best universities in China
. It is located on the site of  Qing Hua Yuan” Tsinghua Garden, Beijing, China. It was established in 1911. This university is one of the prestigious university in China and consistently ranked academic university in China.

History of Tsinghua University:

The Tsinghua University is one of the oldest universities in China, after the Boxer Rebellion, John Hay the American Secretary of State was proposed the US $30 million plus Boxer Indemnity China had to pay to the US but it was negotiate due to the ambassador Liang Cheng and the president Theodore Roosevelt, in 1909 it was approved to reduced the Indemnity payment by US $10.8 million, for Chinese students as scholarship these funds would be used in the United States.

On 29 April 1911 the Tsinghua College was founded in Beijing by using this fund, it was established on the site of Formal Royal Garden . The reason to establish this college was to give support and serve as a preparatory school for the students who study in United States sent by the Government. Tsinghua introduced its four year programs for undergraduate in 1925, it was renamed to Guoli Tsinghua Daxue National Tsinghua University in the China ) in 1928. Its graduate school was established in 1929. In 1937 war of resistance against Japan, Tsinghua University, Nankai University and Peking University merged to form the Changsha Temporary University in Changsha and soon after National Southwestern Associated University in Kunming in the province of Yunnan. In the end of the war it moved back to its original Beijing Campus.

After the Communist Revolution in 1949 at the end of the Chinese War which led the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). In 1955, Mei Yi-Qi, followed by loads of professors fled to the Taiwan, in Taiwan they founded the National Hua Institute of Nuclear Technology, after some time it became National Tsing Hua University of Taiwan.

In 1952 to build a Soviet style system the Chinese Government tried to reorganize the country’s higher education institutions. In 1966 at that time Cultural Revolution start the students of different universities walked out from their classrooms, out of them some students went to become the part of the Red Guards. In this situation the university was completely shutdown.

In 1978 after the ended of the Cultural Revolution the university starts to get students again. The university shutdown for a long time period but it was remained its top position of schools in China. The University has included a multi discipline system from 1980s. In the result of this many schools were re- incorporated. These included the School of Economics and Management, the School of Sciences, the Schools of life Sciences, The schools of Law, the School of Social Sciences and the Schools of Humanities. Tsinghua launched the school of Arts and Design it was merging by the Central Academy of Arts and Design in 1999.

Tsinghua University Academics:

In the year of 2014 Tsinghua University has 19 schools and the departments added are 55. .Tsinghua University is covering the wide range of subjects, the including subjects are Science, Engineering, Social Science, Arts and literature, Medicine.

The Department Mathematical Science:

In 1927 the Department of Mathematical Science shortly written as DMS was introduced. This department is one of the premier departments in China. The Department of Mathematical Science generated a lot of famous mathematicians. In 1952 when Tsinghua University merged with Peking University, DMS was merged with the Peking University’s department of Mathematical Science. In 1979 its name was changed as Department of Applied Mathematics , but in 1999 it was again renamed its original title as Department of Mathematical Science.

At present the DMS has 3 institutes, Elementary Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Probability and Mathematics. They have 27 members of faculty. Computational Mathematics and Operations Research has 20 members of faculty. The students that are currently studying in DMS are about 400 undergraduate and 200 graduate students.

The School of Life Sciences:

In 1926 the school of life sciences was introduced, it was established under the name of The Department of Biology. The first Dean of this department was Qian Chongshu he was the Botanist. The Department of Biology in the early of 1950s was merged into the other Universities, the decision about the Department of Biology was taken in June 1984 to re-establish this department, in the month of September the department has officially reopened. During its re-establishment several universities as Peking University’s Department of Biology, Institute of Biophysics of Chinese Academy of Science eith various other institutes and their Biologists presented their precious support and help care. In September 2009 the department changed its name as again its original name. At the present 38 professors are currently giving their services for the school.

The School of Economics and Management:

New York University of Technology offers and suggests an Executive MBA (EMBA) program in partnership to senior Chinese Business managers of Tsinghua University.

School of Journalism and Communication:

In April The Tsinghua School of Journalism and Communication was founded. The research field of school includes the International Communication, TV and Film Studies, New Media studies, Business and Journalism studies, Media operation and Management are based academic research in Communication and Journalism theories. The basic purpose of the school is to acquire the complete advantage of Tsinghua University’s comprehensive educational formation to Chinese and also International Media. The aim to establish a first rate discipline in the studies of Journalism and Communications to enhance talented professionals in the field and discover latest and advance ideas in Journalism and Communications. For Academic research activities the school has 5 research centers, names are Center for New Media studies, Center for International Communications Studies, Center for Media Management, Center for Film and Television and Center for Cultural Industry Studies.

Graduate School at Shenzhen:

The Tsinghua University and the Shenzhen Municipal Government were mutually established the Graduate School at Shenzhen. This school is affiliated from Tsinghua University in Beijing, since 18 October 2003 this school is situated in the university town of Shenzhen. To achieve International status the Graduate school plays a vital role, it follows the rule of  the one University 'one Brand' this two outstanding campuses share the similar culture and similar style and the most important is their similar aim of excellence. The Graduate school’s prime goal is to create or provide professionals with the capability of leadership also enterprising spirit, international vision and a broad range of knowledge. The Graduate School is developing the quality education, starting the original and unique researches and also initiating the transfer of high technology to the country’s industries. Their new campuses start their developing in a very fast way as to give the bright and destined future.

Campus of Tsinghua University:

In the Northwest of Beijing the campus of the Tsinghua University is located. For the universities and other institutes of education the District of Haidian was designated. The campus is on the former site of Qing Dynasty royal gardens and it maintains its style as Chinese style and as well as the traditional building, many of other buildings is reflecting the western style. This campus is one of the most beautiful campuses throughout the China. In 2010 in Forbes the campus of Tsinghua University by the panel of campus designer and architects was named as one of the most attractive and beautiful college campus in the world. In 1914 T. Chuang graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, helped to design or plan the Tsinghua University’s campus ground with the influences of the American style of the architectures. In Beijing in a northern suburb the University's campus Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology is located.

Tsinghua History Museum:

Tsinghua History Museum is covers construction of 5,060 m2. It has the best collection old pictures, documents, maps, artwork, graphics, music and videos which tells the visitors about the history of Tsinghua University. For the talented lot of people who contributed to the development of the institute pays tribute by organize the exhibition. Tsinghua University Research Center:

Tsinghua University research center is the most important and key center of the University. For the research of the Scientific and technological projects at the University, chiefly supported by the special projects and it is funding from National Science and Technology programs. Over 20 billion yuan funded from the University for the Research Projects which funds more than 1400 projects for the university every year. From the State for the research work the university receives more financial support.

Academics, Staff and Enrollment:

In the Tsinghua University the Administrative staff is 4,101 and Academic Staff are 3,133 with professors and associate professors are included. The Tsinghua University can enroll 15,184 undergraduate students and 16,524 Postgraduate students.


Entry Requirements:

Tsinghua University is also regarded the best university in 2008, 2009 and 2010 from the Netbig. In the same consecutive years by the Chinese Education Center it was placed at 2 nd position.

In 2015 by the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings Tsinghua University was regarded as one of the best and most reputable university in China. In the list Tsinghua University was ranked at the 26 th globally.

In 2013 by the QS BRICS University Rankings Tsinghua University was at the top rank.

In 2014-2015 Tsinghua University was at 23 rd rank by the Times Higher Rankings by Subjects for Engineering and Technology.

In 2015 US News and World Report Best Global University Rankings place Tsinghua University at 59 th and in Asia it placed at 4 th rank.
